The end of my pencil resembles chewed raw sugar cane, my finger is worn to the bone from punching numbers into the calculator where the numerals are no longer visible on the buttons. I just can't seem to get the Rands required for my adventure to match the budget I have. Story of our lives. I've set best-case and worst-case scenarios and am still not balancing this damn budget!
Instead of abandoning the idea and sitting here saying "Woe is me", I'm turning this into a 'working' adventure and am now going to look for various ways to raise finance or assistance to make my adventure happen.
I've decided to donate a percentage of any funds I raise to our blogland fundraising project, the Matsopane School in Morape Village. I am part of a group of international bloggers involved in assisting this local Mozambican community rebuild their little village school which was severely damaged in a tropical cyclone in 2007 on the San Sebastian Peninsula.
You can read more about the school on The United Blog Nations at Work written by Angela in Germany who so generously started sending parcels of stationery she collected in her village, to the San Sebastian community over seven years ago.

thinking Janet...and crossing fingers...you'll find a way...
sponsorhsip - a book - magazine blog - camping equipment suppliers - vehicle back up service agents - camera equip - go large!!
did this for that bike trip long ago - for the same reasons!
I`m still thinking, Janet. We are a bit far off, but maybe Jack Wolfskin or Globetrotter could be contacted (camping and outdoor equipment), and have you written to the Geo magazine or National geographic?
