South African Post Office has ONCE AGAIN stolen my mail!!!! I am so sick of reading and hearing their fraudulent, lying tagline "We deliver, whatever it takes". I think "We take whatever we're supposed to deliver" is far more accurate and truthful.
In February Tales from the Dales sent me a fabulous gift in the blogging Secret Post Club. I've taken this from her blog:
Oh dear, it looks as though my first Secret Post Club parcel didn’t make it to its destination in South Africa :( Really quite naffed off about that as the postage alone cost me in the region of £8. Hey ho.
So in a kind of *look at what you could have won* style here is what it contained.
I bought a notebook with silver (can like) edging and covered it with baked bean labels for my recipient to take notes in on her adventure.
I also included a photo book about the Yorkshire Dales as a contrast to the landscapes of South Africa, along with some scrapbooking stickers and a piece of English Pewter celtic jewellery.
What a fantastic, thoughtful, useful, gorgeous gift!
This is not the first time something an overseas friend has sent me has not arrived!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I hope the scabs of 50,000 lepers fall into their tax-funded cups of coffee on their way-too-often coffee breaks!!!
UPDATE: I did get a lovely March prezzy :-)

OMG. i would be furious too. that this stealing occurs anyway blows my mind. it is stealing!!
i'm really sorry janet, that looked like a wonderful package.
urrrggg.
Oh no, Janet! I was amazed to hear that your previous parcel actually arrived.. I don't have much faith in the SA post, or the Swazi service either. So far Botswana (touch wood) has a brilliant postal service, so if it would be helpful, you are welcome to have things sent to me and I could get them to you in some other way, for example when we drive down to SA I could send them via internal sa post? this is the sort of thing I do for my sister who lives in swaziland and cannot receive postal packages from our mother in the UK!! Anyway, the offer is there if you would like?
thanks for the offer Karen.
Will persevere for the moment. . . .
